How does it taste?

The juices have been carefully combined into a delicious blends and flavours. A lot of effort has gone into these recipes. We believe we got them just right! If you haven’t enjoyed eating fruits and vegetables before, you may find it takes some getting used to. Therefore, we have included our Goodness Me Range (which holds a slightly higher ratio of fruit) and our Detox Range (slightly higher in vegetables). If you are new to juicing, we suggest you start off with a juice from our Goodness Me Range before starting a detox.

Will my kids enjoy it?

We also had our kids try each one, and they loved them! Great way to get fruit and vegetables into their diet. Also perfect for lunch boxes. Could also be enjoyed partially frozen as a slushy!

What’s the difference between juicing and blending?

“Juicing”  is the natural fluid, fluid content, or liquid part that can be extracted from a plant or one of its parts, especially of a fruit or vegetable. It is a process of extracting the liquid held within the fibres of fruits and vegetables. By removing the insoluble fibre (specifically in the stalks, skins, and seeds), a concentrated dose of nutrients can be readily absorbed by the body. Partial amounts of the stalks, skins and seeds are juiced with our machine, so not all is lost. A good branded cold press machine is generally used for this.

When “blending” you consume everything you are blending, including the insoluble fibre. You generally include less of an amount of ingredients and they have been known to keep you feeling fuller for slightly longer. Blending is popular with those who are already lean and wish to sustain the exercise they are doing, lose body fat and gain muscle mass.

Both juicing and blending have their benefits.

What’s the difference between cold pressed and centrifugal juicing?

Centrifugal juicing is the most common type of juicing. A centrifugal juicer typically utilize a fast-spinning metal blade that spins against a mesh filter, separating juice from flesh via centrifugal force. The juice and pulp are then separated into different containers. The problem with centrifugal juicers is that the fast-spinning metal blade generates heat, which destroys some of the enzymes in the fruits and vegetables you're juicing. The heat also oxidizes those nutrients, rendering less nutritious juice than a cold-press juicer.

Cold pressed juicing extracts juice by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables for the highest juice yield. The big benefit of this slow process is that the juice retains more of its vital nutrients . Less heat is introduced during the process so the juice doesn’t oxidize as quickly. Reducing oxidation not only helps to preserve more nutrients in the juice, but it also gives the juicer a better taste and texture.

With cold pressed juice, you’re getting fresh, healthy ingredients with the most nutritional value in each sip.

Can I do a detox whilst I am pregnant or breast-feeding?

It is not recommended to undertake a detox if you are pregnant or breast feeding. While detoxing your body will be releasing built up toxins, these may be harmful to your baby. You can however consume our Goodness Me Range as an anytime drink.

Why do your juices have a shelf life of 3-5 days once defrosted?

Fresh juice has no artificial preservatives and hence can only last as long as the fresh lemon juice added. After all, our only ingredients are fresh fruits and vegetables. You wouldn’t keep a cucumber for 3 weeks, would you? Any juice that claims it is “fresh”, but lasts that long on the shelf, just doesn’t add up.
